How to store alcohol at home, properly
2026-04-21By Vino Corner1 min read
Even expensive alcohol can be ruined by bad storage. A few simple rules go a long way.
Wine
- keep in a cool place
- avoid direct sunlight
- don't store next to the stove
Whiskey, vodka, gin
- store upright
- room temperature is fine
- avoid heat
Sparkling
- chill before serving
- don't shake the bottle
After opening
Once a bottle is open, seal it tightly and finish it within a reasonable window.
If you're buying quality alcohol, storing it correctly is what keeps the flavor intact.
